Mr. Fausnaugh measures microseeps at U.S. Geochemical

posted in: Faculty & Staff

Mr. Fausnaugh, St. Anne’s fourth-grade teacher, and owner of U.S. Geochemical, had a case study published in the September issue of AWE International.

In the article “Revolutionary Detection, Ion Science Tiger VOC detector,” James Fausnaugh said: “All petroleum reservoirs leak light hydrocarbons as microseeps to the surface. Microseepage is the other half of geochemical exploration for oil and gas. These microseeps can be easily identified and detected as they travel vertically to the surface where they are sampled and analysed using highly sensitive instruments to help oil and gas companies identify potential drilling targets.”

He article, Jim also provided the photo and the artwork.
