It was time to trade in the ole car and purchase one more sturdy. So, Mr. H—Principal Pat H’s husband –began a search and found himself at Medved KIA in Wheat Ridge. Initially, he chose two white cars, one with a red stripe. Mrs. H. ok’d the one with the red stripe because, after all, it was just a car. Yet, as she stepped into the showroom, what appeared but a red and black SOUL.
“Our school colors,” she exclaimed. As it turned out, the cost was no more for that vehicle than the other. “That’s the one I want!” she insisted.
Then, as the paperwork was being processed, CEO John Medved was introduced. Mrs. H. explained that the car bore the school colors of The Shrine of St. Anne, and that is why she chose that particular car. A devout Catholic who is “all for Catholic schools,” Mr. Medved chatted about his own children having gone through the Denver Catholic schools. Mrs. H. added that she was planning to obtain a couple of magnetic signs for the school, as well. Mr. Medved promptly offered to pay for them.
