MISSION STATEMENT

St. Anne's Catholic School exists for children. We are a Christian community witnessing to the gospel message of Jesus Christ. We are committed to providing both the environment and the experiences which encourage the development of the whole person. Recognizing our role in the Catholic Church and in the world community, we cultivate an awareness of our world and its people based on the values of Jesus. These ideals mandate that we provide a quality education program which aims for excellence in an atmosphere of faith and love.

GENERAL INFORMATION

Application for admission to Shrine of St. Anne Catholic School indicates a willingness to be committed to the first priority of our school - being a Christian community witnessing to the Gospel message of Jesus Christ. This commitment calls for active involvement in and support of both one's church community and the school community. This active involvement and support at both the church level and the school level is an expectation of all who request school enrollment for their children.

TUITION FOR 2012-2013

The first priority of our school is to provide a Catholic education for Catholic families who are registered and actively involved in the life of their parish. “ACTIVE” involvement means REGULAR attendance at Sunday Mass, REGULAR financial contributions to the parish using the parish envelopes, and involvement in the various ministries of the parish. Because of this priority, a reduction in tuition is available for the families who fit this criterion.

A Parish Verification form is included in the application packet. If the above criterion is met, the Parish Verification form must be taken to your parish (including Shrine of St. Anne) and must be signed by the pastor or his representative. Attach the signed Parish Verification form to your completed application.

TUITION RATES FOR THE CURRENT 2011-2012 SCHOOL YEAR

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE

Tuition assistance is available for children in full day K through Grade 8 for FULLY AFFILIATED CATHOLIC families who are registered and actively involved in the life of their parish.
*“FULLY AFFILIATED” means:

• REGULAR attendance at Sunday Mass
• REGULAR financial contributions to the parish using the parish envelopes*
• REGULAR involvement in the various ministries of the parish.

*The individual parish will determine for its own parishioners what standard of contribution is required.  

NEW STUDENT ADMISSION POLICIES

According to Archdiocesan Policy #2000:
“All Catholic preschools, elementary schools and Archdiocesan high schools are open to students who sincerely seek a Catholic education and meet the requirements listed below. Because every Catholic child has a right to religious instruction and formation in the Catholic faith, preference is given to Catholic students." 

NEW STUDENT ADMISSION PROCEDURE

Step 1. Completion of the application form with accompanying documentation:

Kindergarten:   A copy of the child’s birth certificate. According to Archdiocesan Policy, incoming Kindergartners must be 5 by October 1, 2012.       Grade 1:   A copy of the child’s birth certificate. According to Archdiocesan Policy, incoming Kindergartners must be 6 by October 1, 2012.   A copy of the child’s most recent Kindergarten assessment/report card from this school year.       Grades 2-6:   A copy of the child’s most current report card for this school year.   A copy of the child’s report card from last school year.   A copy of the child’s most recent standardized achievement test scores.

2. Evaluation of Incoming Students:

Kindergarten:   Children will have an individual, informal assessment time with his/her Kindergarten teacher the last week of May. For summer registrations, this testing will be done in August (prior to start of the school year).       Grade 1:   There will be a three week evaluation period for all new incoming first graders. After the three week period, the teacher will confer with the Assistant Principal who will then contact the parents.       Grades 2 & 3:   There will be a three week evaluation period for all new incoming second and third graders. After the three week period, the teachers will confer with the Assistant Principal who will then contact the parents.       Grades 4, 5 & 6:   The new incoming student will have an admissions interview with two teachers and the Assistant Principal.   If the student has a satisfactory interview, there will be a three week evaluation period. After the three week period, the teachers will confer with the Assistant Principal who will then contact the parents.

NOTES:

APPLICATION PROCESS:  

1. In order for applications to have first consideration by the Application Review Committee, applications must be in the school office no later than 3:00 P.M. on Friday, March 16.
2. The Application Review Committee will review each of the applications and rank them. Priority is given to Catholic families who are registered and actively involved in their parishes.
3. Registration for currently enrolled families will be held on Monday, March 19, 2012 & Tuesday, March 20, 2012.
4. After registration for currently enrolled families, the available slots will be filled from those applications submitted by 3:00 P.M. on Friday, March 16.
5. Applicants will be notified if they are accepted.
6. Registration for those new students who are accepted for the 2012-2013 school year will be held on Tuesday, April 17, 2012 from 6:30-7:30 P.M.
7. Applications submitted after 3:00 P.M. on Friday, March 16 will be reviewed for any remaining slots.
8. Applicants not accepted because the class is full will be assigned a number on the waiting list for their grade and will be notified of this information. Parents will be contacted to register as spaces become available.
